de boekenvrienden Nederlands

Terms of use

Last updated: 17 October 2026

In short: de boekenvrienden puts readers in touch with each other. Who you meet and what you do together is your own choice and your own responsibility. We do not check who anyone is.

Who runs this

De boekenvrienden is a private project of mine, Harm Luijkx. There is no company behind it. The app is free. Questions? Email [email protected].

How we treat each other

If someone breaks these rules, we may remove messages and pause or close the account.

Meeting up is at your own risk

We suggest readers to you based on what you both fill in. We do not check whether someone is who they say they are, how old they are or what their intentions are. We do no background checks.

Whether you meet someone, who, where and when is up to you. The app can suggest a public place, but you decide whether to meet there. A few tips:

Liability

De boekenvrienden is not liable for what other users say or do, in the app or outside it. The same goes for any harm or loss that happens during or after a meeting with someone you met through the app.

We do our best to keep the app working well, but we do not promise it will always be available or free of errors. De boekenvrienden is not liable for loss caused by an outage, an error or lost data.

This applies as far as the law allows. De boekenvrienden does remain liable for harm caused by intent or gross negligence.

What you put in the app

What you put in the app (your profile, photo, messages) stays yours. You allow us to show it to other users as far as needed to make the app work. Only put in things you are allowed to share. What we do with your data is in the privacy policy.

Ending your account

You can always delete your account yourself in the app, under Settings. We may also stop or change the app. If we stop altogether, we will tell you in advance.

Changes

If these terms change, we update the date at the top. For big changes, the app asks you to agree again.

Law

These terms are governed by Dutch law. If you have a complaint, please email us first and we will look for a solution together.
